Safety Management Rope Access Courses

Working at Height Safety Training

The aim of the safety management rope access courses is to establish a benchmark health and safety competence for those Managers and Supervisors who are responsible for rope access and work at height projects. The course will address those areas of competence that are detailed in the IRATA ICOP and ISO 22846, and that are not currently addressed by the IRATA Level 3 training scheme. Particular emphasis in the safety management rope access course will be on planning work, to ensure that candidates are meeting their legal requirements and can follow established best practices.

Course participants will work through:  

  • Introducing Safety Management in the Rope Access and Work at Height Industry
  • Work at height and the law
  • Risk Management (Plan)
  • Work at height in practice: selection of methods and developing a safe method of work (Plan/Do)
  • Managing the work (Do)
  • Reviewing the effectiveness of workplace safe system of work arrangements (Check)
  • Continual improvement (Act)

Course Prerequisites:

  • IRATA Level 3
  • Level 2 with at least 12 months experience at that level
  • A manager or supervisor with at least 3 years of industrial work at height experience

Course Duration:

16 hours over 2 days including assessment.

Certification:

Candidates will be issued with an Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) Certification on successful completion of the course and assessment.
